28th April 2009: Ecotek sponsors SuperKids 2009
Ecotek were proud sponsors of SuperKids 2009 Environment Award run by the Sheffield Star recently. Hosted by BBC Look North presenter Christa Ackroyd and local boxing celebrity Johnny Nelson, the awards ceremony was held at the Sheffield Hilton. The region's deserving star children received recognition from top local footballers, athletes and musicians.
The winner of the Environment Award was Daniel Smith aged 12 from Sheffield. Daniel has battled bravely to improve his local community environment. Securing the demolition of unsightly buildings took two years persistence by Daniel. Now the former hazardous site is planted with regenerative trees as wildlife returns to the once dilapadated area.
